News of the Best Nature

I've been waiting to tell you....! BJ and I are blessed to be pregnant with our second child! We are extremely excited about this development and had actually tried for several months without success until Little Oot decided to be created. I know that when a friend of mine tells me that she is pregnant, I ordinarily have a long list of questions that I love to ask, time permitting. Therefore, any of you who are interested in this information will be saved all the trouble of asking because I will just tell you (for some reason this line reminds me of Cosmo Kramer saying, "Why don't you just TELL me what movie you want to see!" Sigh. Thank goodness TV stations still air Seinfeld reruns.)

We're due January 25th.

I'm 9 weeks and 1 day today.

Yes, we know the baby is fairly close in age to Silas, but the baby is expected and we are wanting our children to all be close in age (don't worry...this isn't actually a question that I would ever ask people but thought I may as well share our sentiments).

BJ definitely wants a girl and I am strongly leaning toward wanting another boy. Hey, I have a boy already so I may as well stick with what I know! That being said, all we both really want is a healthy child and we'll be tickled to death with whatever sex it comes out. A boy and a girl will both be loved equally.

Yes, we will definitely be finding out the sex. I am the kind of person that cannot handle a surprise, and fortunately BJ is in with me on this or else he would be disappointed because I would definitely win that battle.

We have a couple of serious ideas for names, but nothing certain. We are pretty sure about a boy's first name and we are definitely certain about a girl's middle name. Once we officially decide on names, I will keep you in the loop. And knowing us, we will decide LONG before Oot hits its third trimester, at which time the name Oot will be shed.

We had an ultrasound today and everything looked wonderful! We are so thankful!

How am I feeling, you might ask? Pregnant. For you math whizzes out there, isn't there some math equation that's like something multiplied by all the numbers leading up to it, signaled by an exclamation point? Like 8! = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1? It's true, I might be smoking something (not really, I'm pregnant!). Well, if this equation is true I just made one up! Jenny = nauseous! where nauseous = nauseous x nauseous x nauseous x nauseous.... You get my drift. I knew I had to get my come-uppance though because I was barely nauseous at all when I was pregnant with Silas. I also am wiped and would like to be in bed by 8:15 every night, but alas, that ain't happenin' with a 13-month-old scooting around here. I'm lucky when I get to bed at 10:30. Also a little secret that no one ever told me so I'll impart the knowledge on to you: when you get pregnant with your second one, you show MUCH sooner than with your first. I already have an obvious belly and am wearing maternity clothes at nine weeks. Please do not misunderstand this paragraph as griping.... I am thrilled to be pregnant and will happily take the first trimester symptoms any day. I remember that during each of the previous months that we didn't get pregnant I thought, "If only I was nauseated right now." And now I happily am.

More to come on another night from our little blossoming family of four. Plus Tex. He says we can't forget him. =)
